This term refers to abnormalities in the genetic material that makes up the Y chromosome in men. The human Y chromosome harbors genes that are responsible for testicle development and also for the initiation and maintenance of spermatogenesis in adulthood. When gene sequences are deleted from the Y chromosome, the normal plan for genital development is lost and health conditions manifest through life.
